How to Pack a Tent in a Backpack

While going on a camping trip, you are supposed to have a backpack along with you. Your backpack contains everything that you will need while camping, including your camping tent. The camping tent is one of the important parts of the backpack, as it is used for sleeping. Obviously, there are some tricks and rules you need to follow while putting the tent in your backpack because of safety reasons. In order to get the best outcome, you need to follow these tricks.

Bring a Backpack

Well, firstly, you need to bring a backpack. If you already have a backpack, then it is fine. Otherwise, you need to bring one. While bringing a backpack, it is recommended to get a backpack with an internal frame. Because this type of backpack offers more space than the backpack with an external frame. So, you will have enough space for putting stuff.

Lay Down the Tent

After bringing the backpack, your next task is to laying down the tent on the ground and check whether it is a dump or not. If you find the tent is damp, then let it dry completely. Otherwise, it will make other gears damp, and also it will add some weight to your backpack. 

However, your tent should be in a long and flat shape. You will find the tent poles come with their own bag. You need to line up the bag along the tent side, not in the middle.  You will find the tent poles are helpful when you will pick them away.

Roll the Tent

Then you have to roll the tent. You should roll the tent along with its poles in a manner so that the tent becomes a small package. The tent needs to be aligned properly though. For this, you need to roll the tent in a straight-line manner. 

After rolling, if you find the tent is not aligned properly, then I will recommend you do it again. It is better to roll the tent tightly. It will save a good amount of space and also there will be stability. Then put the tent into its bag. All the tents come with their own bag. It provides good support in terms of packaging.

Put the Heaviest Items First

After putting the tent into its bag. Now you need to put other camping gear into the backpack. Keep in mind, that you should put the heaviest items such as a sleeping bag at the bottom of your backpack. So, keep all the heavier items there. Don’t overload your backpack. It is recommended to get a backpack that is about 30% of your total weight. Otherwise, it will cause several pains and obviously, you will not find it comfortable.

Put Your Tent on the Backpack

Now it turns to the final action. You are supposed to be worried about where you should put the tent in your backpack. Well, you need to put the tent in the middle part of your backpack. Just above the heavy items on your backpack. Never ever put your tent at the bottom of your backpack or below the heaviest items.
